Insurance gives people and businesses permission to do audacious things. It underwrites nearly everything of value in the modern world. A company can construct a two billion dollar tower because the risk of losing it is survivable. Entire categories of innovation exist only because risk can be shared and structured.
That is why we believe insurance is one of the most important and foundational industries in the world.
This conviction is what led us to build Fulcrum, and this week, we’re announcing $25 million in combined Seed and Series A funding led by CRV, alongside South Park Commons, Foundation Capital, and a group of angels from both insurance and technology. For us, this milestone means having the resources to go deeper into the systems that power insurance and continue building technology that reflects how brokers actually work.
At its core, insurance is a discipline defined by constraints, nuance, and rigor. Every policy is a dense system of conditions, and every claim is a decision shaped by context and interpretation. Yet the way work flows through most brokerages today does not reflect that richness.
For many account managers, a large share of the job is consumed by manual and fragmented work that exists simply to keep operations running. We believe AI is uniquely suited to take on the parts of the job that demand constant attention, consistency, and coordination across systems. When that work is handled continuously in the background, account managers are free to focus on what drew them to the role in the first place, which is building trust, advising clients, and applying judgment where it truly matters.
Many of the top U.S. brokerages are already using Fulcrum to execute thousands of hours of manual work every day.
We’re still early, and there is a long road ahead of us. Building the next generation of insurance brokerages means going deep into complex systems and caring deeply about the people who rely on them every day.
If you are a broker who wants to rethink how your team works, or someone who wants to help build technology for one of the most impactful industries in the world, we would love to talk.
We are growing our team and our customer base rapidly, and this is just the beginning.
